Dua for 2nd Ashra (Dosray Ashray ki Dua)

The second Ashra of Ramadan Ashra is known as the ‘Ashra of forgiveness’ (Maghfirat ka Ashra). Recite this dua to seek forgiveness of the sins during these ten days. The 2nd Ashra of Ramadan starts from 11th Ramadan and ends on 20th Ramadan. Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) has advised reciting special Dua to seek forgiveness for all their sins during these ten days. Following Dua is prescribed for second Ashra:

Dua for 2nd Ashra (Dosra Ashra) of Ramzan

اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ رَبِّی مِنْ کُلِّ زَنْبٍ وَّ اَتُوْبُ اِلَیْہِ

اے میرے رب! تو بخش اور رحم کر اور تو سب مہربانوں سے بہتر مہربانی کرنے والا ہے۔

I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin I committed!

The word ‘Ashra’ means 10 days, and the holy month Ramadan is based on 30 days which is divided into three Ashras with specific names, features, and qualities respectively. These Ashras or stages of the holy month Ramadan is divided by Allah Almighty and told by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). The Muslims fast in the month of Ramadan and there are specific prayers for fasting: (Roza rakhne ki dua), and (Roza kholne ki dua).

The holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) defined that Ramadan is the holy month carrying:

  • second Ashra is forgiveness (dosra ashra Maghfirat)

Importance of Dua for Ashra in Ramadan

Besides the rewards attached, these Duas are the gifted opportunities to gain forgiveness, blessings, and the mercy of Allah Almighty. The significance of these Ashras of Ramadan is crystal clear with the description bythe Holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) who taught Muslims these worthy Duas.

Please recite/read this due most often especially after every Prayer/Namaz.
